Andrea is a research assistant working with Nancy Longnecker. Her work at the Centre includes research on various aspects of participatory or citizen science. Andrea works closely with Nancy’s group of students, organising weekly group meetings and providing assistance with survey development, thematic content analysis and general editing and review. Andrea holds a BS in Biology and a Masters from the University of Michigan’s School of Natural Resources and Environment. Her previous work experience has been in museums, environmental education, and two years working in rural primary schools in South Africa with the United States Peace Corps. Born and raised in the US, Andrea relocated to Dunedin with her family in 2013. She enjoys spending her free time exploring the great outdoors with her son, usually with a camera close at hand.
