Possible Popularising Science projects

Water:

Many people think water is becoming the new gold, precious and in short supply.  New Zealand appears to be endowed with plenty of water, but many New Zealanders also want to keep their rivers wild, for recreational use and to preserve river ecology.  Climate change will bring changes in water distribution and increase our use of water for irrigation. How do we get across the importance of water conservation in a warming world? There are many good projects in this area.
