Richard Thomas.

Richard is currently an Executive Producer at nhnz. He was educated at Oxford and Stanford universities. During a 10-year career with BBC TV, he made some 50 social documentaries and spent a year as an instructor with BBC TV’s training department.

He came to Wellington, NZ, to be Head of Information Programmes for TV One in the mid-seventies and then moved to Sydney, where he was Head of Full-time Training at the Australian Film and TV School. Later he became Director of Television at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

Richard first worked with nhnz in 1987 and has been involved with a variety of programs across a range of genres. He was the series Executive Producer for the landmark Wild Asia series.

He is currently working on a number of independent film projects as well as overseeing Short Film Otago.
