I completed the Post Graduate Diploma of Natural History FIlmmaking in 2004. My student film "Beyond the Kelp" is about Hectors & Maui's dolphins - it was broadcast on Maori TV and won a Forest & Bird Seaweek film award. Since then I've been filming Humpback whales in Tonga, and dolphins in New Zealand. I've also worked on a number of short films, music videos and TVC's, and have made videos for WWF and SPAW.
In 2010 I spent a few months filming Moko (the famous friendly wild dolphin) - I then made a documentary about him for TV3. I'm now putting together a different cut to enter into film festivals and sell to overseas broadcasters.
My study at the Centre for Science Communication gave me a lot of valuable knowledge, some great friends, and also opened up doors to do things I may not have had the opportunity to do otherwise.
